Organisation

Organisation is all about making sure that everything is in the right place. Making sure that all spaces are connected in the right way. Kitchens should be near Dining Rooms, living rooms should be near views. The design should flow and respond to the path of the sun.

Simplicity

With any design problem, the best solution is normally the simplest. When a building becomes complex, you have to ask if each element is directly meeting the clients needs, or has it been introduced to solve a problem somewhere else.

Function

The key to designing buildings is to look at the functions they contain. What is the best way to express the function and to meet the needs of those who will use the building. How can we allow for flexibility, for future uses, for expansion or contraction.
